The rest of these pics are of various angels of the gallery. Some of these shots are a bit blurry. A true reflection of how I was feeling by the end of the install. I love the design part of the job, and the end results, always, but the actual physical labor is grueling sometimes. Thank god we didn't have very many heavy pieces on this job.
One of the best things about this job is that we got to install one of my favorite artists. Caroline Douglas. Her sculptures are work that I have coveted since the first time I saw them. I am actually negotiating my fee for a trade of one of her works. Fingers crossed! Caroline has a blog where you can see her work - Come Clay With Me. Get There!

Oh Jeane, the post is so interesting. Red gallery - what a wonderful idea this is! And the works - beautiful!
Wow, Jeane!
I really like that red. So unusual as a backdrop for artwork, but why not...it's awesome. The art is stunning. I am checking out Carolin's work as we speak. Great job :)
Hi Jeane,
Looks like your artists are continuing the birds (crows?) theme that has been running through several blogs lately. Very colourful!
This really does put the WHITE CUBE in its place! Wild and passionate about ART! Love it
I've been in such a red mood lately! I even got a big stack of red paint samples at Loew's this weekend. I'm itching to paint some red walls. Yours look great!
Just stunning - and no wonder you were exhausted.
Jeane, you're such a dear! I love the red walls! Who knew? Glad to know you are involved over there.
You guys did this in one day??? Unbelievable, no wonder you were exhausted. But the results -- wow. Looks great.
It's a great idea to have red walls for these sculptures. I wouldn't paint walls in red if I wasn't sure about the result, you are brave!!!! Congrats on the good work :)
The red really sets off the works of art! Wish I could be there to see them in reality!
Wow how dramatic!Jeane you are so daring and it has paid off!Everything looks wonderful!
Great red walls! I was able to click and enlarge and even though a little blurry, I got the full feeling of "Being There"! Hard work but the pay off is all there! Congratulations!
Hi Jeane...just what I needed...a good dose of RED!!!
Congratulations on a job well done... The responsibility that goes with designing and hanging a show is huge...and you have all done an incredible job! All I can say is WOW.
Sure the artists and gallery will be thrilled! Jo xx
How beautiful, I love the red walls so much... you have done a great job! Roxanne
B & W - we think the red really worked for this show! thanks!
Mary Ann - exactly - why not? - Lisa and I are known for not staying in the traditional lines of gallery showing - we really try to push the edges for our installations.
Hi Derrick - ya! the birds are everywhere it seems - they have always been a favorite for visual artists - they represent so many things and yes these are either crows or ravens.
Rosie - Passion - yes! that's what red can do - create that excitment! this gallery has a very low ceiling, so you really feel enveloped when you walk in!
Hi Willow - red walls! yes! I say definitely go for it! after all, it's just paint! it can be gone as fast as it came!
Oh Ann, these old bones don't last as long as they used to! I had to really work out all the aches and pains this morning! a lot of warm up and stretching...
thanks Lusia - we really looked hard at all the possible color choices and red seemed the strongest to support the art! our team is always pushing and risking!
Raph! - oh how fun to think of you and your family here! this gallery has very low ceilings so that could be a real trick!
thanks Robyn! - it really did pay off! people are loving it!
Mary Ann- thanks so much - wish you really could be here! this is an installation I think your would really enjoy!
Jo - you are right - it is a huge responsibility - it's so important to honor the artist's work, but people who hire Lisa and I know the kind of work we do, so they know it will not be a stock gallery install!
thanks, I'm so glad you like it! xxoo
Roxanne - thank you - from a person who loves color like you do, I'm sure this red makes total sense!
Caroline! - thanks so much - was so fun using your work and don't you just love how the red supports it?
Mary - thanks so much - I mean red is so your color and you are so not afraid to use it in your work - think how your work would look on red walls! wow!
yeah red walls are the new white walls - it looks great
The red looked awesome with their work. How bold! Yeah, prepping for a show is exhausting. I didn't have to paint, and it took three hours to put up my last show. No wonder you needed three people!
Enjoyed your car wash vid :D
Looks great .. my immediate thought was 'we need our apartment painted' ... and then I let it go and enjoyed your post .. and her, Caroline Douglas, art.
Kate! - I totally agree! you are teasing us with that new studio pic!
Hi Shayla! - the car wash video! thanks - installation work is so physical - I'm still sore!
Daryl - okay, I just read your post on painting - how funny - we didn't have to do the painting, thank god! because it took them three coats! and yes, Caroline Douglas - I covet her work!
Looks gorgeous, Jeane......and hey, I just had a beer so it's completely in focus as well.
jeane, those red walls are such an improvement over what was there the last time i was there. and caroline's pieces!!! it *all* looks great. xo
I'd have thought that "red" would have been too dominant, but no!
The vibrancy really elevates the art....how smart of you to know!
Thanks for my RED dose for the day.
love it.

!
exactly Karen! - by the time I shot these pics I'd had a double martini! they seemed right at the time
Lynne! - isn't Caroline's work amazing? - I was at your place last night before I went to bed and YOUR FACES! fabulous! I was too tired to leave a comment, but am heading back there in a few minutes!
Lyn- so glad you like it - I think it always pays off to choose the strongest possible way to show!
mansuetude! - exactly - life! that's what we celebrate
That red was an inspired choice! The art looks truly happy there! I'd love to see it in person.
It looks amazing! Love the red... it's very powerful! I hope you feel great about it all.
good morning P & E - so wish you could see it in person - how cool would that be?
Sydney - I do feel great about it and always so happy to see you here - I'm a constant lurker on your site -
What interesting walls to hang on.. and so many differing sizes, must have been fun!
grrl! - installations always a challenge and especially with the artist is as eclectic as this one is!
Love the gallery, this is the first time I have not had a red room in my house for about30 years....I have however a very large wall/door which makes up for it.
The gallery and exhibition looks great
The courage was worth while. Of course, a galery or exhibition room is a place where you stay less than an hour, it is an art environment, and I think this colour is great!
We painted our living room in a very clear raspberry red, and people said its courageous. Yet, we experienced it as a power-giving medium, good for recreation. We have had it for 6 years now, and we'll do it again.
Janette - well it is obvious you are a strong woman who loves strong colors and you NOT having a red room would seem a bit off - thanks for stopping by!
Hi Eva and welcome - it's welcoming isn't it? all that warm yummy color surrounding you in a room feels so warm.....
