stuff and a MEME....

Fast! That's how life has been lately. Finally on Sunday, Jim and I drove out to a nearby Fort and took a long walk in the woods. After we drove through heavy fog, it became one of those cold clear days that make you glad to be alive. It has taken me awhile, but I almost always carry my camera with me now. It was a really foggy morning and I snapped pics while we were driving. I'm amazed at some of the shots I was able to get while the car was moving. My header right now is a moving shot. These two shots were taken on our walk.
This is usually a place we can see the water and the town across the bay.

The sun was working really hard to break through the fog.

MEME:

I was over at Cynjon's Varietist Muse and he had the best idea. Here is what he is doing:

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
- What I create will be just for you.
- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
- You will receive your item before the end of the year (or sooner).
- You will have no clue what the item is going to be.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you have to repost this meme and make and send out five surprises of your own.

Of course I jumped on it! I have changed his original idea a bit to suit what I can offer. I love that there is no immediate deadline.

So I am offering the first 5 people that post a comment here something made by me for you!

Ready, set, make!

Jeanne, these pics are just so evocative, and to have been able to capture such colour within such a foggy day. (I almost feel a 'poetry moment' inspired by somewhere I have never been). And please, where is the place you photographed all this? Ignorant Ann from the UK.

Oh, what lovely photos... I know where it is too :) I can just feel the cold, damp air chilling the bones!! Even in the cold, it's great to be out in the middle of winter.
Sounds like a great idea for a 'loose ends' exchange... I'm off to visit his site. Happy hump day!

Hi Jeane...happy to hear you carry your camera with you. Just look at these amazing images. Pure magic.
I like your "meme" idea...too.
Love to be in it. :)

Ready set make!

I'm absolutely crazy about this idea! I'm in... That photo of the sunlight bursting through the trees is absolutely breathtaking. I have been trying to get into the habit of keeping my camera on me as well. My mother always has hers on hand but I am not so well organized.

Always look forward to your posts. TPL

The minute I opened your page, I stared at your header and wondered where it came from. It's gorgeous!
Now I have to go do the Meme on my blog...although it may have to wait until morning.

Peace & Love,
~Barb~

Congrats to the first 5 and SUCH a cool idea. Wanted to comment on your video of the actors warming up. Liked it.

It reminded me of when I'd warm up before playing the flute. It involved all kinds of wierd facial expressions to loosen up my muscles. Once I had an audience of two non-musical people and they thought it was WIERD. Much giggling insued (hey, we were teenagers). It struck me that the actor's warm up exercises could also look strange to some but I bet they improve the performance.
Wonder if visual artists have "wierd" looking warm ups?

I guess it's just as well that I didn't make the first 5 - it's a long way to constellation Camelopardalis to deliver something you've made!!

Love the photos!

There's an Award waiting for you at my blog, Jeane!

Beautiful photos! Remembering to take your camera...I'm not there yet! Always think of it when we are already on the road.
I think I'm number 8 or 9...in the comments counting...nice idea!

That "in motion" shot is quite incredible. I drive down this very winding, hilly road every day when I'm at home, and there are always these amazing litle patches of fog....but it's hilly and winding (and one lane) so I'm always too scared to stop!

Glad you're on board for the first five!

What a wonderful idea your "meme" is (I like that there is no immediate deadline).

Fantastic photos and I love your new header. So nice you were able to slow down a while and take a walk with your husband (and camera).

Yes, life is fast. And with you and your camera, it is beautiful.
Thank you.

Hi Jeane,

I'm not sure this meme is fair!!! Given our time difference, Wild Somerset Child must have been quick off the mark! But I guess you would prefer not to pay international postal rates either!

I know that the five lucky winners will get a treat. I'm only slightly green!

the sun breaking through the trees is AWESOME

and the actors warming up is HYSTERICAL .. I have never seen actors warming up .. singers, dancers many many times and in oh such funny ways but actors .. this is a first .. I played it several times ...

okay the meme is closed and when I get it sorted, will post the first 5 or so - it went a bit sideways - alas

Ann - thank you so much - actually those were taken at a nearby Fort that has been turned into a state park and it looks out over the Puget Sound.

Brenda - thanks, it was very cold...

Jo it's taken me over a year to learn to keep my camera with me, but a habit I'm happy I formed - so happy you are on for the meme - send me your mailing address

TPL - I'm thrilled you are doing this also! lucky me! send me your mailing address my email is
jmyers@olympus.net

Barb - so glad you are doing the meme - send me your mailing address at the email above

Hi Shayla - the warm ups - so important to get the body ready to work - get rid of the day and get focused to do the work ahead - I do at least a five minute warm up with my actors before rehearsal, then a bit of improv and then we start the work - this group is working on a western - you play the flute! fabulous!

Raph! thanks so much and I am so honored to have received this award from you! thanks...

LOL - Mary Ann, I totally know about remembering it on the road, but now I carry it in my bag always - when I'm done downloading or shooting pics, it goes right back in my bag - that was the key for me, to make what I always carry with me the camera's home

Cynjon - oh, man - you should have someone else drive you on the road and either shoot while they are driving or have them stop so you can take pics - the road sounds like it calls to be digitized! loved your last pic post!

hello mary! - welcome - OMG - you have the fabulous vintage postcard blog that I have lurked about on for a long time! - so glad you stopped by and thanks

OMG, Jacky, yes it was nice to slow a bit - I use to go fast all the time, but the older version of me likes a bit slower pace!

Lyn - thank you - you know what? - sometimes when I'm talking on the phone or just holding, I'll click on your blog just to look at your header - such a beautiful picture

Derrick! - okay, you got my message to you - let me hear from you!

Jeane said...

LOL! Daryl - thanks about the pic - Jim was so tired of stopping while I shot my brains out with the camera, but I got some really nice pics - ya, my actors warming up! - I sound so mean yelling at them to walk faster!, hide in plain sight, etc. - they do have fun with it - you should hear them when I yell at them to use underwater voices or announcer voices - that's funny!
