catching up.....

The past few months have zoomed by at super sonic speed and some lovely things have happened that I can finally share properly. The first is a fabulous trade I did with Counsel Langley. The first photo is the ultra sparkly front -

then you turn it around and this is the back or maybe the front depending on the day. Notice the little gear thingy at the top?

Well that is a crank for a little tinkly music box that plays 'My Way'. Now you know why I had to have this piece.

Then there was this.

A fabulous zine from Cynjon Noah at Varietist Muse. I was lucky enough to be included in this fabulous little book. Thank you Cynjon!

Then about a week ago, or more now, I got this very lovely little collage from Leslie Avon Miller at Textures Shapes & Colors.

I was one of the lucky 'First Five' that turned into more like the first 15 or 20. And actually, I wasn't one of the first five, she was just very generous and included me. This is a little 2" x 2" collage. Can't imagine working that small. Thanks Leslie. My photo doesn't do it justice - the lighting this morning was weird. Visit her site to check out her work. That's a little bit of catch up. Jim and I are leaving for a few days. I'll be back here next week sometime. Make art!

UPDATE! Okay, I have to say, I might have been a bit hasty about the 'new' followers widget, BUT, I just found out how easy it is to become a follower. I was at a new blog for me and I decided I wanted to be a follower - "oh, look, I can click a button on the widget and I am instantly a new follower!" Okay, I like that. I didn't have to come back here, fiddle around in my layout and dashboard. I'm still not a lover of the design, but the ease of use has just jumped up on my list. So I move my ugly little box higher up my sidebar to allow anyone who wants to become a follower that easy option.

You have a great knack for trading! I need to delve back into my collage/assembly work soon as those are the pieces I, too, love to trade. - Those and drawings... I'll have to think more on this.

Great pieces, all.

My biggest problem (aside from the too big box) on that follower widget is that one can not click on the picture and be taken to their blog. I think it's too much information too.

Hi Ann - thanks, we will have a fabulous time away and yes, I love my life - alas, I have not been able to leave comments at your blog or Luisa's.

Hey Lyn - yes, the little collage is lovely - two portfolios!? wow! could we see some?

Luisa - thanks - I adore the music box - as I told Ann, I haven't been able to leave comments on your blog :( - hopefully by the time I get home, all will be well again! loved your dream, but are you sure it was just a dream? xxo

Patrice - I love to trade - I have quite a wonderful collection of art by trading - I feel very fortunate that other people want my art also - one of my friends has traded for dental even! - well the widget does offer a bit more then I can handle at this moment, but I truly loved the ease that I experienced today!

Great to see this work...I love Councils piece the music box is wonderful. I have one sitting in my studio waiting for the right project...it plays "Somewhere Over The Rainbow".
A "zine" I have to google it's meaning...am I the only one left on the planet that dosen't know what a zine is?
And Leslie's collage...there is certainly some poetry going on with this miniture...Have a great time away Jeane, youve earnt it...

Wow. You scored some really wonderful pieces. Well done.

I'm quite impressed that you have been able to navigate the "follower" things. I must confess, I haven't even tried!! I'm still getting over the fact that I can actually write something and get it up on my blog with pictures and everything!!

Keep an eye on the follower thingie on blogs you think you already do follow .. the new thingie seems to have lost some people in the transition .. I had you as one I follow but I see that I am not on your new follow thingie so I am fixing that ...

Hi Mary Ann - I do have a wonderful collection and I do love having all of them around me!

Jo, I had no idea what a zine was either - I had to ask at least three bloggers before one answered my question - Zine, short for magaZine is what I was told - am catching up here and will be over to your place soon!- oooo, I know that little music box in your studio will find just the right place!

LOL! Pamela - you give me more credit then I am do about any of this cyber stuff - I agree about just being able to write something and then publish it, but what you write isn't 'just writing', it's way more then that!

Hey Paula, I couldn't agree more - Counsel's piece is FANTASTIC!

Hi Robyn - 'time out' completed and it was so much fun! Whew! a break is a wonderful thing!

Derrick, LOL! love the hint hint and apprently you like sparkles! I get it!

Lynne! I KNOW!, isn't Counsel's piece amazing!?

Hey Raph! - we had a wonderful time away! sun heals all!

Hi Counsel! - OMG! I love the little guy! I turn it daily and crank it at least once a day! don't you love that little story about the small man and the wise man? One of my actors gave that to me!

Congrats on the book, Jeanne. Your trades are awesome. How did I miss this post? I love the surfaces in Constance's work and the music box element is delightful. Leslie has such a way with neutrals. Peaceful and anything but boring.
