show announcement

The past few weeks have been all about getting Jack moved to the Alzheimer's Care facility, moving my mom and our little trip to Portland, so I haven't had much time in the studio! Summer is coming to an end and the mornings are cooler with the mist coming in off the water, but warm in the afternoons. I'm pretty much exhausted from moving mom and Jack - you can all relate to that kind of exhaustion, I'm sure, plus the emotional atmosphere that surrounds both moves. I'm slipping into the studio to do the finish work on the paintings - an hour here, 15 minutes there - edges, hardware, etc. I have a few works in progress and a head full of ideas. Timing is everything and it always seems events gather in mass to be dealt with all at once and that's where I find myself at the moment. But,here is my upcoming show announcement! If you are local or in the Seattle area, I would love to see you on the eleventh. Happy Sunday all!

Yes, I am well aware of that kind of exhaustion and I'm thinking kind thoughts your way. Dealing with our elderly parents is difficult sometimes. I am glad you have such a vibrant and creative world to escape to. It does help! Best wishes on the show!

I have also dealt with the care of elderly parents and my heart goes out to you. As with your previous comment, I agree that getting into a creative groove can work wonders.....you just have to get there.

Congrats on the show. I also have one coming up on Oct. 2 in Philadelphia. Too bad the Star Trek transporter machine has not yet been invented.

I have had experience caring for Alz. patients and I do not envy you your road. the only thing I can say is that just allowing them to be in their haze causes less aggravation for everyone. In my experience when I have seen family try to make them remember things it is often met with resistance ....
good luck with your show!

oh, I wish you lived closer too - how fun would that be to share my art with you! thanks Willow :)

Thank you Pamela - caring for my mom is not a burden, but I am older and get tired more easily - we just say STOP, sit down and have a chat - neither of us is a superwoman, thank god!

fabulous! Karen - a show in October, oh how I wish I could see your work in person :)

I couldn't agree with you more La Dolce Vita - falling into their world is definitely the way to go - it can be very freeing - thanks for stopping by :)

I wish you could see my show in person also Robyn - how wonderful that would be - the header are things strung on some rebar outside my studio xxo

oh Lynne, so glad you like Rick Bartow - he has a very similar spirit I think and he has no boundaries in his work!

thank you, thank you Z - I wish you could be here also!

hello Donna - how wonderful if you were able to stop by on the 11th to meet you in person!

you certainly know about caring for a family member Katelen - you're an inspiration :)

As Willow said - wish I could attend!

Love the babydoll head.. There's just something mesmerizing about dolls abandoned to the elements... such enigmatic and spooky sadness.

Best wishes for your show.
