assemblaged......
Well, here is what became of the elements I worked with this week. These four pieces are combinations of my current paintings, found objects and pieces of old paintings or assemblages that have been deconstructed. These four pieces will be at Salon Delucca for the month of February, so if you are locale stop in check them out. Have a great weekend everyone!
This first piece is on a salvaged door - two of my paintings are combined inside a found frame and a crucifix is added from another assemblage piece that is now deconstructed....there are also collaged papers.......19x12
this second piece is on a salvaged door with a small painting, collage paper, a photo I took of a crow on our skylight, dipped in bees wax (this had been part of a light box) rusted wires that have been part of an assemblage I had outside for years, a little box with waxed edges that has been many different things - then some sort of wonderful glass plate I found somewhere...25x14
and the next two are both done on salvaged doors that are covered in an old musical script, ink and two little paintings that are mounted on a ripped December painting - these are both hand rubbed with wax.....24x18.5
So that's what got assembled this week - you can go to here to see the side views if you wish.

Extraordinary and certainly worth waiting for!
Unique, primitive, raw,,,all words that come to mind, yet they're not enough. In the first image, the single red bead is only one example of many things that sets your work apart.I can't tell you how much this work appeals to me!
Excellent, in all aspects!
Cabinet doors, right? About how large? please and thank you.
I love them clicked! Your ink lines are intriguing as are the scratches. Your layers have rhythm. So tell me, do you still have kitchen cabinets or have they been repurposed? I'm picturing art panels over all your cupboards ;)
I would love to see them up on the wall at Salon Delucca.
wow-- these are very powerful and moving-- and I am sure I would stop and look and look at them-- the true sign-- and what we as artists should always be striving for-- you have achieved here
Incredible, Jeane. Wish I could pop over to the salon for an up close and personal view!
these will sail away
like fallen leaves on a windy
day in an open field.
like "hot cakes"! as they used to say.
full of inquiries.
yes, i agree with neva... they will sail away like leaves on a windy day.
these have got The Energy, jeane...
xo
Jeane, inspiring and wonderful work.
As you said so matter of fact"So that's what got assembled this week"... and I say...bold, raw, relics with mystery and magic...got assembled this week! Bravo! I went on flickr and liked seeing them at an angle.
Oooo - I lovin' this series of posts because I love this work. Great interest and mystery - not to mention great imagery!
The ghostly face really draws me in.
Wow, Jeane! The work is so thoughtful and elemental. I love the rich earth tones you use and the way everything is assembled. Very successful.

I ended up at your blog by the usual circuitous route -- so glad I found your intriguing assemblages. Loved the "words that describe my process" art in your sidebar! Yes.
Hi- I love your sense of touch and the earthy colours. You have a "found" sensibility - ie wait for the image to emerge-and have inspired me to do more mixed media! Thanks for joining my site!
