I love it. I can look at your work for a long time, exploring the depths and dreaming away.....
Jeane, so what's your take on Yupo so far?? I got a bunch yonks ago - what 6 or 7 years maybe? - and played with some acrylics but never really went further than that.
Well, I see you do as well on Yupo as anything else!
That can be one wild and crazy support,,,but you nailed it!
This gorgeous piece makes me think of Mesa Verde and the cliff caves.
(super banner also)
May have to give Yupo a go after seening your terrific work.
Beautiful work! I'm really liking the lower left, window-like area and the swoop across the top. Oh, ma gosh. Love the finished work on Flicker. Just wow. Great energy and movement!
Jeane, nice yupo piece! I almost like this cropped section better than the whole, but I like how to see whole, we go off to flickr. I tried yupo and couldn't find satisfaction with it.....yet.
jeane, of course i think this piece is fabulous, but that face in the banner is what really gets me. wonderful, wonderful face (and upper body)... is it on cardboard? xo
its been awhile since I could come around to the blogs and your banner is fabulous-- and so is your yupo "experimenting"-- dark and mysterious
It's a great name - but I have no idea what yupo might be! Was just enjoying looking at your flickr shots.
that banner FACE is truly beautiful - the flikr shots excellent - experimenting is certainly worth it Jeane!
I am with Annie....????
I really think what you is amazing, however....do you sleep????
The more I see of your work, the more I realize how effective graphite is..
love the limited color choice.
Love the play of lights and darks, Jeane. You can see something different every time you look at this. Yupo, huh....
Love what you are doing and love that you are able to turn out such pieces in such a short time...maybe Janette is right in asking 'Do you sleep'? ha I'm also one of a few who missed the yupo train...a paper?
Hi Jeane,
Well, I'm glad I clicked through to flickr and learned more about Yupo! You must remember your poor ignorant followers Jeane; well, me at least! Painting on a waterproof material huh? Has it dried yet?
good morning Momo Luna and thank you so much :)
well, if this piece dries completely, I have to say, I really liked working on it Jen - I love the way it takes ink and graphite - the oil was a bit tricky - if you rub it on, it leaves a very nice stain, which I like :)
thanks Babs - it's a trip for sure - right now I'm just experimenting with it, so will be able to tell more over time :)
hello Don - well it's always good to try a new surface - if I can't use my favorite tools, I won't use it, but had to try :)
Hi Melinda - well, it has to dry completely before I will full commit to using it other then just experimenting - thank you xxo
it's a bit wonky isn't it Maggie - all slippery and then stuck, stuck - hated my brushes, but loved the ink! got my copal - will be brewing this afternoon - will keep you posted xxo
hi Lynne - ya, he's on cardboard - I needed a break yesterday so I heated up my wax, grabbed some scraps and just did a few little faces - they are very calming for me xxo
hello Donna, thank you so much :)
Hi Annie, well yupo is a manmade material something like mylar only opaque - very different then paper :)
yes it is Rosie, thank you :)
Hey Grrl, nice to see you here and yes, I love love love graphite :)
ya, yupo - a very strange animal Elizabeth :)
trust me Mary Ann, I sleep! love my sleep and have a lay down almost every afternoon - not a paper, more like plastic :)
no, hasn't dried yet, but it is on its way - I know stuff dries on mylar, but it takes awhile, so will just give this some time - we'll see :)
The header is in a class by itself..haunting! May be my fav.
Just found out what Yupo is..I've got to get me some...where?
I'm loving your flickr account. There's so much there I haven't seen yet. Your new header is great.
Astonishing ... makes me smile ...
good morning Lyn - oh, thank you - I feel a little batch of faces coming on - well, I ordered it from our art store in Seattle, but I'm sure you can get it at any art store xxo
Hi Shayla - glad you had fun at flickr - I couldn't come even close to posting all the work I do here, but it's easy to pop up an image over there - thanks :)
nothing better then a smile - thanks Daryl xxo
Rich colors Jeane, but that face on your header - pulls me right in. If you can find some Tyvek - the film they use to wrap houses as they are being built - it's the same thing as Yupo, I understand. When my neighbors built their home, I had a stash of the left overs.
here is a link http://www2.dupont.com/Tyvek_Weatherization/en_US/products/residential/resi_homewrap.html
good morning Leslie - thanks, the face is like a little doodle for me - I do them all the time when things aren't in a flow so to speak - tyvek?! really - I actually have a piece in my workspace that a friend gave me - will definitely check it out :)
Thoroughly enjoying your process and your work!
Wow, your new header is stunning, haunting really. And your piece as well. It has me thinking of distructed buildings, broken walls, a dark window where light is trying to make its way in. (haiti?) Thanks for stirring my imagination and soul. roxanne
This is hauntingly beautiful. I could get lost in this so easily.
hello Holly, thank you so much :)
good morning Roxanne - love your profile pic - always good to see you here, thanks :)
Kerin, thank you and happy you stopped by :)
I love the piece under your new blog title. It's absolutely brilliant!
thank you shopgirl! :)
The more I look at your work the more captivated I am.
Very nice!
Hi Jeane! It's been a while, but had to stop by just to say how much I love this piece, but even more I adore the image at the top (the head). It's stunning! It's just the sort of piece I'd love to create, but would have absolutely no idea how or where to start. Ok, I need to find out more about this Yupo! There's lots of products online but have no idea which one you would choose, as it doesn't really give sizes. Looks great though!
