stage two.....

Good morning everyone - this week it's all about using all the elements I've created over the past two months to create new work - blending the old with the new - assemblage and collage. This is my very favorite part of the process. The new work I've created on paper is now being torn, ripped, layered and incorporated with things like old scripts, salvaged cupboard doors, old canvases, etc. The photos below are details of some of the pieces in process. I will post the finished work towards the end of the week. Have a good one everyone!

Hi Jeane,
love the ghostly faces too.
I find the layers of different materials exciting.
This must be a very enjoyable process.

Hi Jeane,

Looking forward to see what the twisted wire in your bottom pic will become.

Yup, totally delicious!

You're part sculptor, Jeane. I look forward to hearing more.

Looking at your header for awhile and enjoying the textures and colors I noticed a rhythm or repeating ridges. Was the face done on cardboard?

well thanks Leslie :)

good morning Lynne - tasty & yum - two very wonderful words xxo

thank you Heather - the faces are like my doodles when I need a break :)

thanks Kayla, and yes, it is a VERY enjoyable process :)

thank you Carol - love having you here :)

hello Derrick - well those twisted wires have been around for about ten years - there are friends wishes wrapped in paper and then wired and they hung outside my little shed for years - these are the last ones I have left :)

thank you Willow - delicious is good :)

Hi Shayla - yes, the faces are done on cardboard - when I need to just doodle, I use my scraps - it's a good way to make collage pieces :)

pure joy Mary Anne - it's a time to just release any attachements I have made and make the work stronger for letting go :)

good morning Z! ditto xxo

definitely go ahead Donna! life is short!

hello Chris, thank you and welcome :)

I am having a great time Melinda - it's taking all the energy put into the works on paper and pushing it a little bit more xxo

you are so funny Babs - Hurry - I'm one speed - medium and falling backwards - well not literally, except maybe a couple of times, but like, making a big mess out of what seemed a good idea and then having to find a way to fix yet another good idea gone wrong - always seem to be fixing mistakes but continuing forward :)

some of my favorite words also Jo - finding the best spots on a work and then ripping that out and then the rest becomes better somehow - anyway, you know xxo

good morning Annie, me too! who knows what will happen :)

Hi Elizabeth - thank you, me too!

It is always fun to see what you are up to. I wondered what you would come up with for the "ghost" faces, love how you put the pieces together. You are an original, Jeane!

How liberating that you can bring yourself to tear up your beautiful works of art to take things further. I adore the work you create on paper and so glad I found you through flickr! I shall follow this process with great interest. I am sure what you create next will just blow me away!

good morning Daryl - thank you, xxo

Hi Maggie - thank you - this is so much fun to have all these elements available to work with - AND I waxed the door pieces with my new brew - thanks so much :)

Hello Carolyn - well, yes, liberating it is, but also only just a few paintings are good enough to stand alone so they make wonderful elements of assemblage - so nice to see you here :)

What a coincidence. I've just started to combine, tear up, and redo several different works- incorporating bits and pieces of what I like into a brand new work of art. It just seems like the rebirth of something even better! Thanks for sharing this wonderful process. Can't wait to see your follow-up posting!

good morning Brenda - oh, that is fabulous - I use to know the owner pretty well, but have lost contact - I won't miss it! :)

hello Jill - yes, I agree - it's the rebirth - thanks for coming by :)
