checking back in......

Hello! we are home and I'm checking back into blogland - I've uploaded a couple of sketches I did while we were gone - I only had my watercolors and some pens and ink, but I worked several days - these two sketches were done on yupo - we had a wonderful time - lots of sun and beach and just laying about - so looking forward to getting back to work - will be checking out the neighborhood to see what you have all been up to while I was gone -

this is a little 9x12 watercolor and ink on yupo...

this also, watercolor and ink on yupo..........

Yaay!!! So glad to see you back. Wow. These two are fantastic: evocative, expressive, suggestive of layers of meaning. Yum. I'll bet you're gonna be so happy to get back to your routine.

Yeah, just wow...

good morning Melinda - thank you and Yes!, really ready to get back to work!

hello Paula and thank you :)

thanks Pamela, it's good to be home :)

thanks Leslie :)

Hi Annie, thank you - yupo is a sheet of plastic! it takes graphite, ink and watercolor really well - oil on this surface is fun, but don't know if it will stick permanently :)

good morning Caio and thanks so much :)

hello Maggie - thanks, it was good to get away, but for me, nothing better then being home :)

Hi Mary Ann - isn't this the most interesting surface to work on?! I'm finding it truly challenging :)

good morning Babs - thanks and I don't know if I'm mastering it or not, like you say, very elusive surface :)

hello Seth - thank you so much and I like your style at all levels :)

Hi Martha - wouldn't tar and cement be the best stuff to work with!!

I'd like to know more about Yupo - what kind of paper is it? Lovely images - I'm looking forward to getting back home and being able to scan in some of my images from my rambles in Australia! I'm now in my last week here - and I met Jo who I believe you also met in New York! and other bloggers too!it was great!

hello Rosie, I've been following your travels - you've had some amazing time away - yupo isn't a paper - it's a plastic sheet that takes graphite, ink and oil pastel very well - I'm still experimenting - glad you stopped by :)

thanks Robyn, I'm glad you like it, so do I xxo

The faces are very haunting and even a little sad- but fascinating.
