This will be my last post from home for awhile - the next time I'm here, I'll be posting from Southampton Ontario - This is a short progression - I'm loving just painting right now - it is so freeing - the first pic is basically laying down the bones of the work - I tried something that I won't do again - I painted an acrylic background to cover the paper before I started the painting - I hated how it made the paper ripple because of the water base - it works better if I just clean my oil \brushes from each session on the paper and then I have a good background to start.....this photo shows acrylic, oil pastel, ink and graphite .......

this next pic is about half way into the process after I've started painting with oil......

This last photo is the finished piece.....

Hope you are all having a wonderful week - I'll see a couple of you next week in Ontario.

Hi Jeane,
I love the bright yellow in these and the fact that a little of it still shines through that black bead curtain! Have a wonderful time in Southampton.
Illumination! This piece gives me the same delight as reading a fairytale when I was a kid. I see delight, wonder and magic here.
good morning Caio! yes, painting is so freeing - just sailing along across the surface then falling into it to explore the depths - so satisfying :)
I will have a wonderful time immersing myself in my world - it's all part of the journey xxo
Hello Derrick - yes, much of the yellow stayed and is staying more and more - it must be spring having its way with me :)
oh Shayla, I consumed fairytales when I was a young girl - eating them up over and over again - I loved them, so that's a wonderful compliment, thank you :)
I love this one!
The touches of yellow. Perfect.
love it, love it, jeane... xo
great images Jeane. have a super time with the gals :-) xx
I feel like I am looking into a deep cave of marble..
wher wondrous things are happening.
The work is fabulous... Paint on!
Seeing your work always energizes me!! Lately I've missed coming here and it's my own fault for being so - so - crap... tunnel-visioned sometimes? Too much work and not enough socializing...
Any how, or anyhow, I love the new header, and I am often visited by those who find me through you. A great compliment.
Lovely Jeane. You may have hated the acrylic first but this one will at least not eat the paper. Love seeing your process! Have fun in Ontario.
Not sure if I'll be able to describe this very well, but something in this piece seems to be being drawn out wider and wider - like cloth stretched to its limits. Anyway, love the last shot. Be interesting to see how it progresses - will it be staying at home while you are away or is it portable enough to take with you?
thanks for sharing the tips and steps here...i do love the GLOW in pic #1...your work, like jewels...
enjoy the trip. whew!
and yes to apple slices w/peanut butter below...i always think that tastes JUST LIKE a caramel apple. i know, vivid imagination at work.
It is truly beautiful. It looks as we are lost in a world of granite of yellow and black. As always love your work.
good morning Pamela, thank you! glad you like it - hugs to Edward :)

Hi Katherine, oh, god, don't tell me paper hates my oily goo and eats it! alas! but nothing lasts forever - it's all just blips on the radar, thanks :)
good morning Annie - ooooooh, what a wonderful description - I think the thing that is stretched the is me, so as usual, I painted myself! and as I type this one of your music pieces just rolled up on my ipod - rather serendipidous -xxo
Hi Neva - oh, those apples slices and peanut butter - a small feast in the afternoons, or apples slices slightly salted with sharp cheddar cheese - mmmmmm - thanks for coming by :)
good morning Katelen, thank you so much - always love seeing you here :)
Finished piece really works here! I followed along side, up and side and again a great finish! It feels free.
Can't wait to read about the adventure...enjoy!

So happy for you..the great work you're doing now, and the opportunity to continue by being in a special place..good luck!!
good morning Mary Ann - thanks, that's exactly how I'm feeling now - very free in my art making - a good thing :)

thank you Lyn - it will be three weeks of emmersion and I couldn't ask for much more - the opportunity to concentrate fully on my work will be wonderful xxo
Fabulous piece Jeane. You are always trying something new with your process. I love that about you!
These are beautiful. Looking at these paintings invoke a sense of calm.
I, especially like the top painting.
Tremendous piece. And it is fascinating, as always, to see the steps. Safe travels!
Have a great trip, Jeane!
Just love watching the work happen in stages.
Beautiful lightd doorway in these cave formations.
:-)
Excellent, as a matter of fact!
ohh.. look how it's transformed..! This piece is lovely Jeane! After painting i use up my left over paint by painting it randomly onto sketchbook pages then do same to clean the brushes.. creates nice surfaces to doodle and rework sometime.
thanks for sharing..
