a couple of images.....

Hello all - I've finished teaching my second class here in Southampton and have one more week and class before I head home - I have not been able to visit your blogs very much because of the erratic Internet connection, but will catch up when I get home - just wanted to stop and say hello and pop up a couple little paintings to give you an idea of the work I've been doing - I'll be hopeful I can stay connected long enough to post -

The moody ethereal feel of that top painting appeals to me. Is it huge? I get the feeling that its tall.

Hi Jeane,

Always a sense of melancholy in your characters, I feel, but they are powerful.

First photo has a feeling of isolation what with the background and the second one with a moon shape...love the possible arm shape...exciting times...both are beauties. Can't wait for details when you get a chance to post at home.

Both are lovely pieces, but the top one really speaks to me! I think it's the placement of the "arms."

I love them both. I think this new direction is quite exciting. Hope you are having fun teaching.

The textures are so rich and substantial looking-like metal, precious. I love them.

I think these two show such sophistication and mastery of the medium. Your work is so strong!

If you get a chance, it would be great to read about your process with these two as well.

These are very haunting pieces. I like the inky blacks and the fact that both figures have one dark shining eye.

The introduction of the figure only deepens your compositions, Jeane. There is mystery and questioning and emotion present.
The viewer is drawn in to the story possiblities.
Can't wait to see more...

These are some of my favorite pieces you have shown. So much depth to both the faces and the surfaces in general.
