road trip......

Hello everyone! We are leaving this weekend for a week long 'road trip!' We are packing up two cars with family and friends and heading across the American west to explore Yellowstone National Park! Tourist traps, road food and motel living! Cameras, cell phones, GPS devices, walkie talkies, and the ever realiable road atlas - Automobiles Ho!

Also, here is the finished painting from my last post. I seem to be on a roll with this color palette and will be starting some new projects after I get home - these will be long term projects a bit different then my usual work - will keep you posted as the summer goes along.

this is mixed media on board 38x48 - Get your summer on everyone! (or winter depending on which part of the world you inhabit)

Great new stuff you've posted,,I drool over all the little scratches/marks. They create such interest.
Your sidebar project materials are so intriguing,,,and your header is one of my all time fave's, even though I think it's the one you said was 'only' an underpainting.
Bon voyage Jeane,I'm sure you'll have much Blog Fodder upon your return!

This piece really moves me, the balance, color, contrast, shape variation, delicate line movement, and composition are outstanding. There are many things to see as the eye moves around the monolith, adding and subtracting. Would love to see it up close and in person.

I love the way you just turn your paintings on their head and decide to orient them another way.

Have a GREAT vacation. Wish you were coming MY way!

This painting is super, Jeane! The colors glow! Love the composition, the balance. Feels like you were already thinking of Yellowstone with these colors and the great depth of the pit. Oh, maybe there isn't a pit in Yellowstone...whatever, enjoy it all! You have a wonderful exuberance in this post.
