domino effect.......

It's cold here. Just a few leaves are left on the trees. The days are short and I find the idea of changing from pj's into work clothes is really just a habit that helps me keep track of time - when I have my work clothes on, then it's daytime even if it's pitch black outside - when I have my pajamas on, then it's night time. I drink alot of tea this time of year. My favorite right now is Cocoa Chai Tea - I think I like the name more then the tea. As I was heating water to brew up a cup, I decided I needed to stretch my back (since the dampness is back, so are my aches) and as I was bending over to stretch it out, I saw something - upside down peering between my legs the bottom of the refrigerator came into view - what was that? Geez, when was the last time I ran a vacuum cleaner hose over the vent at the bottom - UGH - thank god the teapot whistled that my water was hot -

I finished the painting that I posted about last week. This is it -

mixed media on paper on board 24x24 titled 'She Wasn't Sure' - hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Jeane- you know I admire your work and that I feel very simpatico with your sense of form(less-ness), and texture. I have to say I don't miss the deciduous winter bareness. I have lived on the East coast, the Pacific NW, and the coast of CA. I now am snuggly tucked with my studio up against the sw corner of Joshua Tree Nat. Park. Me thing I can't escape is this damned tilting of the planet that makes for shorter days and colder weather. I may have to just accept the ways of the world. =)

Mmmmm....hot tea...cures many ailments...yay.
Re the back, Do you ever "put your legs up a wall"?
Your painting almost looks like the surface is built up into a convexness...Hmm...could be these old eyes, though.
Fighting winter blues,
DJ

This is a lovely piece, Jeanne! The colors are so warm and inviting- I really want to touch the textures. Stay warm, keep painting and don't look under the refrigerator! It's getting chilly here, too- think I'll try that tea.

Great piece Jeane. I was in the studio today, wearing a double layer of fleece and with three heaters going for a while. Its cold, but the moon is gorgeous. Happy painting to you.

good morning Unca Ric - exactly, the tilting thingy - however you live in one of my fav places - Joshua Tree is one of the Jewels of this country - I wonder how it would influence my work if I had time to work there - thanks for stopping by :)

yes it does DJ, a cup of tea is never to be underestimated - I've never tried the legs up the wall - will try it! :)

thank you Sharmon - mmm, yes, try the tea - snow flurries here this morning - ugh!

Hi Leslie - geez, you guys got some snow yesterday - flurries here this morning and I will also look like a fleece wrapped bundle today as I work - found my fingerless gloves - ready to go :)

Put something warming in the tea, Jeane! I like the colours and sense of texture in this and the two WIPs in the sidebar.

Pleased you finished the piece when you could so easily have got lost in the housework!! Like the sidebar ones as well.

Lots of great texture ... did the dirty fridge vent precipitate this?

Ha! I love your writing! I, too, am so glad that your priorities are in the right sequence: Tea and art.

The darker column on the left is so harmonic with the lighter area. Excellent composition. Excellent marking.

Stay strong and don't look under things!!

good morning Derrick!, yes, of course, something warming - geez! where is my head?!! :)

thanks Annie - I very seldom get lost in housework anymore - those years have gone by the wayside - it's now hit or miss because I realized no one really cared but me :)

thanks Mr. Berger - no the only thing the dirty refer percipitated is that I won't stretch my back out in the kitchen again :)

exactly Melinda! no looking under things unless it's something I'm desperately looking for like my fav fountain pen or something like that - glad you like the painting and I'm glad you like the two sections together xxo

thanks Lyn! just make sure that you choose the stretching area wisely because so many wonderful things can come into view - I like to watch the fire upside down xxo

good morning Daryl - thank you xxo - lots of tea today, it's snowing here and doesn't show any signs of stopping, ugh! not a fan xxo

Fabulous, so richly colored. She may not be sure, but she should be because she is just luscious!
