it was just a whisper......

This little piece finally claimed its place today. This is it's third incarnation. I picked it up again after I'd cleaned my brushes on it for the past few weeks - you know how it goes in my work space - love it one day and hate it the next - get it back again but it still doesn't say anything except "I'm back and I could pass but I'm feeling a bit hollow? Right?" And of course it is! Very hollow that is! Today this guy whispered a memory to me. Mission accomplished.

This is mixed media on board, 10x10, 'She Knew My Sister'

We've had wet snow here all day - it's one of those days where you want to curl up with something hot to drink and a very good book - hope this finds you all hopeful with spring right around the corner.

That looks an interesting work, Jeane!

Hope you have warmed up with your hot drink and book!

This is stunning work, again, Jeane.

Wow. Great finish. It reminds me of a pathway in the snow and a moment remembering.

Yes, enjoy the hot drink and a good book. Sounds fantastic.

Spring is on the horizon!

good morning Raph, so nice to see you here and thank you :)

good morning Melinda, do you think so?, hmmmm, thank you - this morning I'm looking at it with fresh eyes and I'm wondering (as always)family here today so I have to leave it alone and that is probably good xxo

thank you Zendot, glad you like it! :)

hello Carole, yes,the center all business and the quiet around it a place to rest :)

thank you so much Jala :)

the scratches are built up while painting and even in the smooth planes you can see the scratching underneath - inperfection is what we live with :)

thank you Lynn, I'm glad you stopped by :)

mmmm, thank you David - yes, a bit primitive :)

hello brbulka, interesting take on the work - I like :)

good morning Annie, thank you xxxooo

Yes, I really do think it is done. Why? Because it stands on its own, with a strong statement unimpeded by any obvious human influence. Not that this is the case, but it looks like it from here.

Of course, you are the artist and must make the ultimate decision. But, I'm just sayin'. Great work!

I know I always say this but I am deeply in love with both the painting and its title ..

Hi Jeane, you inspire me to take the belt sander to my old paintings and then to layer paint over the top. I WILL do it one day.

This has inspired me to do a small piece. Thanks

A quiet completative piece Jeane - a musical quality!

well most of you are much closer to spring than I am in VT...I can understand the whiteness of this piece....so aged like an old door, wonderful scratchings, quite elemental, wabi sabi...is that the term?

wet snow here too, and way too much of it! I am blown away by this... love it! Subtle, delicate, evocative.

Jeane said...

thank you Rosie, glad you came by :)

I keep seeing the term wabi sabi attached to my work Maggie and I'm not quite sure what that means even though I've looked it up - thank you :)

so glad you like it Deb, thank you :)
