an oddity......

It's Monday and we've had an odd occurrence for most of the day - sun - I keep stopping and looking up to make sure that is really what it is - obviously it has been in VERY short supply the last couple of months - almost nonexistent - but here it is - not gone away at all - once in awhile I would see it trying ever so hard to poke through the cloud cover - a milky white disc hanging in the sky and then poof! it would be gone - but today! today it made it's entrance after black clouds dropped hail on us this morning - it has stayed all afternoon - I'm hopeful it will reappear tomorrow - fingers crossed - I wanted to share with you a few movie titles I've watched in the past month - I enjoyed each one for different reasons and highly recommend them:

The Art Of The Steal
Wasteland
Herb & Dorothy
The September Issue
Exit Through the Gift Shop

And below is a little painting I finished this afternoon when I finally stopped staring at the sky:

this is part of my 10x10 series, oil on board, 'She Ate The Center First'

Happy Monday everyone! hope you all get to make art this week.

Electric nesting, unraveling in slow motion ... I hope that yellow disk comes around, too.

Absolutely love the title! Love the work as always. Great sense of everything.

Wishing you more sunny days ahead. :-)

Most engaging title, only bettered by the quality of the work itself. A quiet, reflective image.

Pleased you got some sky watching in! I'm looking at your new painting and moving through that central space.

Of course she did, it was the best part .. love it ..

And add to your list a hour or so of pure musical escapism .. on NetFlix there's a tribute to Stephen Sondheim that's just fabulous ..

good morning DJ, love your take on the piece and YES!!!! let the yellow orb reign!!!! I almost upended myself crossing our iced up deck this morning - chunks of hail embedded in the ice as well - sigh

thanks Melinda and yes, please more sun - we are all so chalky looking, we look like the walking dead xo

hello Jo and thank you so much - glad to see you here :)

me too Annie!!, looks like we are going to see more of Mr. Sun today - the work that needs to be done outside is almost overwhelming - I've usually had about a month of work done by now xo

good morning Daryl - the middle is always the best - the outer edges are just holding the best part - will definitely check out Mr. Sonheim's tribute and also Toonman's latest on uTube! xxo

Great title! Your earth tone palette is so peaceful. I'd love to see your work up close and in person.
Isn't sun wonderful after a long grey winter!

I love it as always and yes the title is so much fun! Yes we are also moles in the sunless universe on Salt Spring. Hear a rumour of sun on it's way??

Ah, Jeane, isn't that sun welcomed! We has sun on Tuesday and my chenille scarves dried so well in it even with the temperature still in the 40s. Lovely sunshine, garden called, but the rain and sleet/hail is with us today and it is not inspiring! Love the title too and the softness in the painting.

good morning Rosie, thank you and enjoy every ounce of sun that you can get!!!we are waiting our turn xo

thank you Zendot, and I love the reference to 'moles' - exactly how we have been feeling - hoping you have to drag out the sunglasses soon!

hello Maggie - oh, bliss to be able to dry your gorgeous scarves in the sun! it will be back xo

not much sun here either, it is shining right now but I am ignoring it in the hopes that it will stick around. Love the title, she ate the centre first... makes me think of pudding before dinner :)
