enough!

.......with the 10x10 boards! I'm putting the little boards away for awhile and dragging out some of my larger surfaces that have been used for cleaning my brushes for the past two or three months. Whew! I learned alot though, working on the small surfaces. It's pretty obvious that a large painting has more of an immediate impact. Small is more of a challenge to create a similar sort of impact. I was successful for about 1/3 of the time. The rest will be reworked when I can face working on that small space again. It felt so good to actually be able to almost walk into the work today. I had to keep moving back farther and farther to get a sense of how it was progressing. It was definitely time to make the switch. Obviously we are home from roaming the Rockies. It was fun, but nothing beats walking into our back door and being HOME!!! That's just me!

this first photo is of the board before I started working on it today....

this is how I left it this afternoon.....still a work in progress, but I like where it is going...

see you all later in the week......

Hi Jeane, glad you've given yourself more painting space. I like where this is going...yes, I love getting home again from a trip...just gone 12 hours yesterday and I didn't want to leave today....so much to do right here.

I know the feeling. It's a nice challenge to work with small spaces but such a relief when jumping back into the large stuff. I'm looking forward to the results x

Home sweet home. There's no place like home. Home is where the heart is. I like where your painting is going too.

Always good to come home! Nothing like it. In your piece, I like the sense of coming out of and going into the white spaces.

It's important to go away, if only to really appreciate home when you return. Love the new BIG work, but then your starting point was VERY interesting too.

good morning William, thank you for your vote of confidence - I'd say yes, it's close, but still needs more work, thanks for coming by :)

yes, it is important to go away Jo, for those very reasons you mention! thank you, the before is about two paintings ago that never worked so became a fabulous area to clean brushes and build up some extreme underpainting :)

you are so funny Daryl!!! I'd have to agree xxo

How wonderful that you challenged yourself within the smaller dimension. But I bet it is even more wonderful to go back to what you love the most.
