It's been a rough couple of weeks in the painting department for sure - while all the ugly stuff was happening, I was also working on some collage pieces with mixed media - like many of you, I have a tonnage of paper scraps - and like many of you, I save them - one kind of paper that piles up in my space is deli waxed paper - I use it to remove paint from work - sometimes when I pull it off, it leaves really interesting marks and designs - I have been collaging with them in the past week and finding it very stimulating work - I'm using cold wax, collage papers and oil paint on board - before I get into this very busy week, I thought I would show you one of them......

I like where these are going - I plan on doing a series of them over the summer...I'm sure they will evolve as I do more of them....hope you are all deep into your week - will be back in a few days to show you some other things going on......

Good plan....a series!
You're off and running with this series...great start. I like the colors and love the stitching...fun ahead!
Always so rewarding..I can feel this one being built! Love&xxx
Looking great. I love all the unique marks in the piece.
Great depth by the different layers ,and i always love Your dark areas in your works. Is the black with indigo blue?
have a nice week.
Love the contrast between the darks and the chalky whites. I don't know if it is cloth in places, but I like the textural sense that it might be.
Good morning Jeane, I enjoy seeing the depth you are able to achieve in your paintings. What lies beneath? My eyes keep moving around to find answers and meaning. Oh those luscious dark areas that contrast with the brightest whites. Looking forward to seeing the series!
thanks Carole, I think it is too :)
good morning Mary Ann, yes, summer is a time to put fun into more things, no? xo
what a nice thing to say Lyn, thank you xo
thank you Wax Beach, glad you stopped by :)
the black is with raw umber Petras, my fav combo for dark edges - also love paynes gray and raw umber together, thanks, xo
cloth is something I'm working with Annie, but not on this piece, thanks xo
hello Chris, thank you - I love contrast too - all about the dark and the light working together just like life, no? :)
I like but then I always like your works in progress
You're work has such intellectual depth. Each piece invites you to ponder the process and the journey you've taken to achieve the result.
Hello! New here!! I've been looking at your work for a while and the things I love are the color, texture, but especially the mark making. You have this amazing way of scratching at the surface of the piece that makes me want to touch each and every one!
good morning Jo, thank you - never thought of my work in that way - interesting :)
welcome Mary, so happy you found your way here - marking has always been one of my main interests in my art practice - showing the flaws that are inherent in humanity :)
Indeed- it does add interesting texture.
btw, I love the dark mysterious bits- especially the marks lower left.
hey Daryl! skipped over your comment for some reason - it was before coffee, as always, thank you xo
Hi Jason, thank you, so glad you came by!
Belos trabalhos, provocadores e impactantes.
hello boaventura, wow, thank you, glad you stopped by :)
Hello Jeanne, your artwork is really impressive and so is your blog page, a work of art in itself - well done
I love the way the white looks luminous and I always love your intuitive sense of placement. And as Mary mentioned your scratchings are divine!
Look forward to a series.
good morning Paul, thank you so much, so glad you came by :)
hello Zendot, thank you - I really enjoy collage - it is more of a quiet way to do my art practice :)
Oh, richness and what depth of the dark. Glad that wax is serving you, Jeane. Made up a couple of fresh batches, very creamy--divine.
good morning Maggie - the wax is so wonderful, it's perfect for collaging xo
