At least a year and a half! That's how long I have been pushing paint on this surface. This painting is a visual diary riding through four seasons and coming round to almost another Autumn. As you all know, some pieces are like that. Refusing concentrated efforts and process - staring at you from a corner while you finish piece after piece of other work - but there it is - still - a resolution only in bits - in the upper corner, a section in the middle, a large area at the bottom, but not all together - Finally - a whole piece - months of my life blended together to tell a story. This is mixed media on board - 38x48 - "She Made A Poem"
We are starting to ride into Fall - strange since we really didn't have a summer, or at least a summer like we think of summer - it's been a sort of non season - but the sun is definitely lower in the sky, the mornings are chilly, night brings heavy marine mist - hope you are all enjoying your week.

Absolutely gorgeous!
Love it!... definitely worth the wait... and effort.
Hi Jeane. I love this piece and the hint of landscape. Interesting to read what you said as well, as some of my poems hang around on the back steps for months at a time. And some of them make it no further! But it's always interesting to see parts of them re-emerge. We too, are starting to feel Autumn leaning close. Hope you see some sunny days soon.
This will sound corny but "your art is like poetry for the eyes!" You have such a way with colour and composition as a poet has with words. Lovely, lovely work Jeane.
love the composition and colors .. they way the compliment yet play off each other. Summer is still here, heat humidity and thunderstorms
hmmmmm, yes!
PERSEVERANCE FURTHERS!!!
OH, be still my heart!
I can't decide which I love the most, this new/old work completed, or the fabulous header!
We are still so summer here, I'm amazed we haven't burned out by now.Thanking God we haven't had to resort to rolling blackouts, or stage 3 water rationing.
Fall has never before sounded so appealing.
I am looking and relooking at this art. Stunning, Jeane!
What glorious surfaces! What inspiring colors and shapes!
This was well worth the wait from my perspective.
It speaks poetically, layers of deep meaning, washes of emotional resonance.
Hope you're celebrating this one in a fun way.
thank you Art, so glad you like it :)
thank you so much Jo, time is our friend, no? :)
good morning Annie, yes, our back porch friends hanging around until their voices find their places - it's that simmering back burner pot - we have the sun, it's just not the hot dog days sun that makes you want to take naps all afternoon and then spreads itself into a warm hazy evening - sweaters and scarves are back out and even boots - sigh xo
hello Carole, what a lovely thing to say, thank you so much, apparently I like 'corny' :)
hello Daryl xo:) thank you - oh, the chill of fall has already arrived here - drug out a neck scarf yesterday xo

Hi Babs, thank you so much - yikes you must be sizziling!! girl! extremes is the mode of the day I guess :)
good morning Melinda, thank you - a bit of your color palette I believe - of course where your light pours in around the edges, mine the darkness filtering - yes, I am celebrating in a fun way by purchasing new board surfaces and a pad of bristol vellum to work my way through the fall xo
wow Jeane,
this is absolutely georgous.
looks like an iceblock in front of some colorful light. really impressive. wonderful effect.

Yes-I agree with them all, but read Petras last and can picture what she said now. Otherwordly, ethereal.
Wonderful.
Beautiful colors and textures- kudos to you for coming back to it many times. The effort was certainly worth it

Well, this one took was worth the time spent waiting, because it's spectacular! It has a luminous quality, reminding me of looking at the sunlight through a partially painted window. Beautiful!

The title is very fitting Jeane... My professor started a project www.polyhaiku.com to inspire people to finish unfinished projects. Such a beautiful piece - and WELL WORTH the year you put into it. So glad you didn't give up on this piece:)
