It's been an extremely looooonnnnnnggggg week! We all have them so I won't bore you with all the details.......not very much painting time and what I was able to squeeze in is not ready to show, so I'll show you another thing I like to do when my brain is inside out - I love creating possibilities with all the bits and pieces laying around my workspace - the stuff that is in my collage box, stacked up on the work table, trampled on the floor, etc.......it's that sort of ' don't have a clue and don't give a damn' place we go when everything is on overload - I took a few pictures while I was messing around and here are a few shots of possibilities.....
pretty basic stuff, but oh such a great stress reliever! Now I'm going to go make some comfort food - soup - made some french bread yesterday and that seems a good combo - the weather has definitely changed, cool, wet - soup and fresh bread weather - hope you are having a great weekend!

Ok....I am jumpin' happy to see you using a torch now too. What I loved most about watching you work is that you allow your impulses to take flight and you just go with it. Anything in the area may end up on the artwork....and you always make it work. I am so grateful to have shared space with you. You made me think differently about what I do.
Jeane, you are inspired and inspiring. Love making a virtual visit with you; and I can totally relate to taking whatever comes to hand and applying it to art.
okay. so i pretty much just came upon this blog a few days ago, and guess what?
i'm like,
crazy loving it.
totally inspirational.
xx,
amy
Soup making always seems to bring me back to base when things get hectic. I guess your collaging had a similar effect! Think I might need some soup making time later!!
Love it!
Great works! It really is a wonderful series of mixed media pieces going very well together.
good morning Z! thank you so much, what a very kind thing to say - and actually those are gun powder burns on that paper - my good friend uses all kinds of fire in her work, including your beloved torch - that paper however was sprinkled with gun powder and lit as it floated on a lake(she was working with the idea of fire and water) - she's sort of like a mad scientist - anyway she gave me some of her burnt papers that I've used in work over the years and that particular piece is something I ripped off an old work - xo
Oh, I know you can totally relate Maggie - your work lately seems to have a breadth to it - more expansive - on we go, no? xo
hello Amy and welcome, I'm so happy you found me too, thank you so much :)
Hi Annie, sounds like you may be running at top speed also - that whole soup thing is so comforting isn't it! I've started making bread again - for years I never bought bread at a store and then there was some sort of life change (can't remember now) we don't eat alot of bread, so I've had to cut my recipes way down - I'd forgotten how easy it is xo
thank you Lynn, so happy you stopped by :)
hello Sue, thank you, glad you came by :)
I'm lovin your 'possibilities' collage work especially the fabric fragments.Nice way to free play!
Soup is perfect...made corn chowder the other night...warmed me and my soul!
even your messing about looks fabulous! especially love the top one.
I hear the weather may be coming around again but today feels like winter wet! Yes soup is on the menu here too. Pumpkin soup with lentils and onion and apple.
love the new header, the new head shot and these canvases in transition
Hi Jeane! Love the messing about! Great starts! Rainy here yesterday and today (much needed), made a big pot of chili. Glorious fall is on the way!
free play, love that idea Mary Ann and corn chowder! one of my favs with a crisp green salad on the side, yum, xo
oh, my, Pumpkin with lentels, onions and apples sounds soooooo good Zendot! I bet it smelled heavenly while bubbling away atop your stove xo
good morning Daryl, thank you - the header is a piece I've used several times on work, but always salvaged it before the redid the work - I like it too - someday it will find its permenant home xo
hello Chris, thank you - oh, my, chili, another cool weather fav with warm crisp crackers, yum, :)
Where ever shall these possibilities lead? Oh where?
Hi Jeane,
You can find this wonderful collage parts on your floor? Oh can i also clean up your studio?
The collages are beautiful and fit together so harmoniously.
I also love the loose lines from you
Really great.
xx
hello Carole - it's so nice to have many ways to go, no? always something to look forward to :)
oh, my yes! Petras, on the floor, on tables, shelves, walls - bits everywhere - ha! thank you! :)
Love permission to be as loose as you care to be! After the rigid work of repairing the barn, I'll look forward to anything not square!
oh, Robin, I bet you will!!! so happy you came by :)
Jeane, I don't think these are basic at all I think they are beautiful and I can't wait to see what you do with them. xoxo
hello Annie, thank you so much, so nice to see you here :)
Wow Jeane - I love these! Why do they make me think of jewelry? Okay, I know, I see jewelry in lots of things, but these are right where I am right now. I look at them and think necklaces ... hmmmm, must come back when I have more time and can look more closely.
