Life comes at you fast!! I've been dealing with a health issue for the past three weeks. Diagnosis not in yet, but the pain has been a 10. Pain at 10 takes precedent over all else. The one constant, my art, has been the thing that I've been able to turn to and drop into for small amounts of time. I had a treatment yesterday and today is a good day. Pain at about 5 which is a huge relief. I actually spent a bit of time in the studio working. Such a fabulous release. I hesitate to share health issues because it sends out alarms and I'm not dying, just dealing with an aging body, so fear not dear readers. My point in sharing is to reinforce the idea of how my art helps me deal with life issues on a daily basis. I feel extremely lucky to have a place to put myself when things go upside down and/or are just humming along. I wanted to share with you a work in progress that I worked on today. This is oil and mixed media on paper, 24x19.
Will be back later int he week, hopefully in a better place. Until then.........

god.
this is the THRID time i've tried to comment.
the first two were long and hearfelt.
this one is just me saying that my kind and precious (!) words are now lost forever.
i must find solace in wine.
xxa
Oh dear. I'm glad that your pain is reduced, but I'm holding out for a zero on the pain scale too. It's upsetting that you have any health issue.
Thank you for sharing your life. I have every confidence that you'll be working at 100% soon. You are too full of life to be held back by pain.
This work is spectacular. There is something new about it. Very intriguing.
Wishing you health, strength, stability and a bright and productive future.
Virtual hugs!
Yes I am also holding out for zero on the pain threshold Jeane. So sorry you are in pain. As for the painting.... absolutely beautiful!! Glad you have art. It is an amazing comforter.
Painting through pain and enjoying some laughter is good medicine! Lovely painting. Gentle hugs. xo
3rd time trying to leave a comment too
Funny how these things go, I posted this week as well about dealing with the constraints of chronic pain and how my art is the place I run to. Needless to say your post is very affirming and the art piece is wonderfully alluring.
Here's to as close to zero as possible, as quickly as possible.
Beautiful painting.
feel better soon
Sorry about the 10, a little better to be at 5 and hopefully a countdown to 0.
This is a beautiful and interesting piece...the composition and forms seem loose and almost moving.
thank you Annie, so glad you stopped by :)
Hi Deb, I hope so too!!
good morning Amy, so sorry - so hope they get that fixed soon! thank you for sticking with it until your comment stuck, so appreciate it!! and wine a very good choice for solace xo
hello Melinda - life comes at us very fast and accepting what we are handed and making it the strength in our lives is the challenge - thank you for your kind words - I move at one hour at a time right now, but that is not all bad, xxo
so glad I have my art also Robyn! the glue that holds it all together, xo
sorry Carol! so glad you persisted though, thank you!!
Bren I just read your post! it's a difficult train we ride with chronic pain, but ride we do - thanks for sharing xo
Hi Lynn, thank you - 0 can be a very good number!
thanks Daryl xo
now I will copy my comments before blogger jerks me all over cyberspace!
hello Mary Ann, you snuck in while I was commenting - thank you - work still in process, but on its way, thanks so much for stopping by xo
Blogger seems to be taking the mickey and where's my comment gone?? Anyway just wanted to say how much I admire your spirit, your art, and YOU!!
Evie xx
this may be a repeat? blogger threw up another window after the first -- but again, good luck with the "aging" body -- many of us are right there with you -- :-( creakin' and squeakin'! beautiful work and glad it gives you solace at this time!
Beautiful work!
hello Evie, bad blogger!! it does the same to me, so I make a quick copy before I hit publish or woosh! and it's gone!! thank you for sticking it out, so glad you came by :)
Hi Kelly, thank you! and thanks for trying again!! good to see you here! :))
thank you LucidDion, glad you stopped by :)
I learned about pain last summer when I fell on a hiking trail and hurt my back. No fun. It sucks your energy, occupies your mind it a very insistent way. Hope the pain is dialing down! I had great, almost instant help from a lovely gentle chiro, once I found her.
But as always your art is divine!
no more pain for you.
i love this work - perfecte composition.
wish You a wonderful , relaxing weekend
Dealing with the cards we're dealt.
Yeah, we really don't have an alternative, do we?
I'm so glad your problem isn't involving your
art tools,,,,your hands.
Well, if it is,,,we certainly can't tell it!
It's another gorgeous piece, that to me
shows your're painting the light through the darkness
of your pain.
Be well soon,,,,,
(thanks for the tip about copying the comment. It saved me here. I hope.)
So sorry to hear....hope things continue to improve. Good to see your painting is still in top form.
Commenting on blogs with these dynamic views has got to me!! I just switched my own blog back - the world went too quiet!! Either that or I've written a load of nonsense. Shame to see the "look" go, but I'll try again when things improve. For now, crossing fingers. Ax
good morning Zendot, thank you - and yes, I have a wonderful chiro who has done some miracle and got me to the point where I can walk again, albeit, looking very much like quasimoto stumping down the street - so I'm very hopeful - xo
hello Petras, thank you so much and I'm so happy you stopped by :)
we sure don't Babs, we have to hit what comes at us head on and move through it to get to the other side!! I was able to work for 2 hours yesterday and it was wonderful - falling into that other space and working in that intuitive way to ease the pain of the challenges! heaven, xo
Hi Annie, things are improving nano by nano and I'm hopeful - I've been close to turning back to the old style too, but I don't have the energy right now to think about it, so I hope my commenters hang in there - hope the writing goes well......xo
okay, now I make a quick copy to paste somewhere that blogger feels it must take me instead of just keeping everything in the little box right here - sigh
We artists are so lucky to have a calling that can take us away from some of the levels of pain in life - both physical and emotional. It really is a gift. Hope your pain subsides and your art vanquishes it to some degree. Your work is fabulous and gives pleasure to us all.
(PS Glad I copied mine also- blogger tried to eat it when first posted)
good morning Robin, yes we are very lucky, thank you, so glad you stopped by and so happy you defeated naughty blogger :)
thank goodness for our art. Hope everything is ok. Sorry to hear that you've been in so much pain.
Hello Jeane,
Your work has taken another leap.very nice to comeback to blogging and see your movement.
Hope your health is no longer a issue.
Kind regards David
