bits of news......

It's been a busy week so far - I have an opening this weekend in Port Townsend, so if you are local, would love to see you there - Seagrass Coastal Home for Gallery Walk. And a wonderful bit of news - one of my long term goals has been to have local representation and that happened last week. I am thrilled to have been juried into Bainbridge Arts & Crafts on Bainbridge Island, WA. I  made the jury appointment over three months ago and totally forgot about it until last week when it showed up on my calendar- yikes!, so I got all my stuff together, resume, statement, forms, etc., loaded the car with paintings and headed to Bainbridge not knowing exactly what the process was about.  As it turns out, this is how they find their artists - you get there, unload your work and come back later in the day after the jury has gone over everything - they do this about 8 times a year and only do 10 artists at a time - they gushed about the work and kept three of the pieces, I signed a contract and BAM! local representation.  I am just thrilled.  The wax and oil continues and the painting below is on paper 24X19, 'Via Third Street'.
That's it for now. Remember to be logged into google/blogger if you wish to leave a comment, or poof!, it's gone - I have got to the point where I copy my comments before I hit publish just in case! Enjoy the upcoming weekend. © All Rights Reserved

I'm still not getting this comment thing. I thought I was signed in and it still looks like my comment was eaten!

Anyway just wanted to say congrats and say you so deserve representation! Your work is amazing, great composition, use of colour, texture. Everything about it say professional!

Good show! I love Pt Townsend, great little art town! That sounds like fun too.

Congrats Jeane - representation is a prize to have - well done!! Your new wax works are a treat - will they be part of your new exhibition? Cheers!

Congratulations on having new representation, enjoyed hearing about your experience, always learning from others you know :-) Oh and this new piece, love it, you are really making it your own.

This is wonderful news indeed! Congratulations!!!
Your work is deserving of every accolade and I'll bet you're going to see more collectors and more representation in the future.

I am just delighted for you.

This work is glowing. So much confidence in this and so much beauty.

first I want to say to everyone who is having trouble commenting -AAARRRRGGGGG!!!! - the same thing happens to me at a couple of blogs also - I'm signed in, I write my comment, hit publish and it all disappears and the old comment style box comes up and wants me to start all over again!!!!!! so frustrating - now I copy my comments before I hit publish - so I say thank you to everyone who has persisted and left comments anyway!!!! I am hopeful this bug will be fixed!

thank you Zendot so much! and thank you for persisting in the comment section xo

Wyn, thank you! no the wax pieces are all still in the experimental stage - need to see if they hold their integrity and how they dry, etc. :)

Hi JeMA, thank you, so glad you stopped by :)

that's the whole idea isn't it Bren, making the work our own, thank you so much :)

good morning Melinda, it is good news! so unexpected - a real gift so to speak - the wax and oil is so interesting and challenging - pushing me and that is always good - xox

hello Mary Ann, thank you - well I love the new template for it's appearance and how it shows images so well - perfect for any image based blog, however, the comment thing is so very frustrating, but I push forward anyway xo

good morning Robyn, thank you so much, so nice to see you here xo

so sorry Daryl!!!! it is totally frustrating - it happens to me on two other blogs that are using the new templates - you know you've done everything right and then BAM! it takes you back to the old comment style!!! and wipes out your comment completely - I copy my comments now just in case! thanks for sticking it out! xxo

hello Annie, thank you - so happy you stopped by :)
