As our days are really more night then day right now, I am reminded AGAIN! how much environment plays in my painting palette. I have been working on the piece below for a couple of weeks - it has gone through about three major phases - from very light to very dark and finally resolved in the painting below. As I'm turning off the lights, heater, etc. in my workspace each afternoon about 4pm, I come outside to see the moon and first stars already in the sky, or dark clouds forming over the tops of the trees - it's twilight and feels magical somehow - that moment has filtered into my work this past month - I'm also playing with bees wax on little boards and blocks and using them as print elements on paper - will show some later in the week -
the painting below is oil and bees wax on board 12x12,
'When The Moon Fell'

A beautiful painting, with lovely texture and colors!
odd little title...moon fell. what i see is the setting sun that turns the bottom half of clouds a glow in pink as the shift occurs between day and night. i would miss the moon if it truly fell. looking forward to the new reveal of your little bee wax blocks. sound intriguing.
magical!
ditto what shayla said:) and such a lyrical title to a very beautiful painting.
Dusk couldn't be more beautiful...again, magical!
Always love seeing what you are working on!
A beautiful piece, Jeane. I love the twilight time of evening myself and that moon at half full this weekend has had me awestruck when the clouds have parted to let her light shine... sus
Always love to see what you are working on now, it always fresh and inspiring. This little moon has a luminescent quality and the texture is delicious. Looking forward to seeing the printing blocks.
Just beautiful, it seems that I am back a few days ago looking at the skies near my house here in New Mexico...and then some!Thank you.♥♥♥
Yes, dark around 4pm for us here as well. Dusk seems to come and go so suddenly this time of year. Blink, and I miss the magic, but I think you've captured some of that here.
love the luminous feel to this one. The colour and textures make me want to linger and take it all in. Amazing how you are blending the wax into your style of work.
Wonderful work
i see fire in it. i like it

good morning Annie, thank you - hope this new day finds you a bit more yourself, thinking of you xo
the wax is not an easy blend for me for sure Bren, thank you - it has a tendency to dominate a piece and I'm working on using it to enhance a piece - a good challenge :)
hello Petras, thank you, so happy you came by, love the work you are doing right now too xo
good morning Karin - well, I'm sure you can work your magic with any medium - you might also look into the water based oils - my friend in Arizona uses them and gets amazing results! xo
Happy Monday Daryl! thank you, so happy little Rosie is home! xoxo
This is so mysterious and evocative of the moment. I feel as though I can see through your eyes. It is a good thing.
I know it is sometimes difficult to have so many gray days, but you've made them beautiful and meditative.
Yes, the water based oils do offer more possibilities without the highs--;-)
Have a great week!
Just passed by....
makes me think of a Tim Burton movie background.
good morning Melinda, thank you so much and I am more patient with the gray days now then I use to be - they have their own magic - talk soon! xo
