sliding out of 2011......

Unbelievably 2011 is coming to an end. Even as I type the words, it's hard for me to believe, I mean, I know that sounds cliche, but SERIOUS!!??? Have I been on the bullet train? and am I just now getting off to try and figure out what I was doing for 12 months? It seems like that - I was busy, a bunch of stuff happened, good stuff, bad stuff, life changing stuff, reality changing stuff, and then a whole load of ordinary stuff. Personally I like the ordinary stuff because it keeps me grounded - that first cup of coffee in the morning, the good feeling AFTER working out, throwing on my work clothes and heading to the studio to throw paint, the days of a thousand errands, climbing into bed at night with a very good book, housework all checked off, lists with everything crossed off, watching the birds in the yard, turning the computer off at night - the list could go on and on and maybe I will add things as the week goes by -

I ran back over the work I completed this year and made the mosaic below of my favs - it was another year of some good work, some bad work and a transition that I'm just falling into..... Two new outlets for my work and even a few sales.....life is good and one of the good things on a daily basis are you guys - my cyber friends - I so appreciate your continued support - I want to wish each of you the VERY BEST for 2012!! It's going to be a very good year.

Wow, you summed up a year, perhaps how a life goes by! You have captured it's essence in the good, the bad and the ordinary. And you make it sound delicious. And truly it is. And you remind us to be greatful for it all.

And of course all this is reflected in your amazing work. And I always feel encouraged by reading your blog and looking at your work. Because I love your work, I have looked back over the years at it and see this wonderful progression to the fine, professional and balanced work you do now. Just seeing this encourages me! It gives me hope that if I put in the hours....

Wishing you a wonderful 2012 and looking forward to traveling into this new year with you and your blog.

Well Jeane...we have much in common as to what constitutes the stuff we prefer in a day...the ordinary.

I love the recap of you work...nice nice nice colors and interesting compositions.

Happy New Year to you!

I wish you a very artistic and good year 2012:)
You collage is so beautiful. That women's face under the collage really reminds me of Helene Schjerfbeck, do you know her work! She was finnish painter 1862-1946

How right you are Jeane about our lives passing by so quickly - how easy it is to forget all that has been achieved throughout the year! - thank you for this reminder to celebrate the everyday ordinary things and the work done - I intend spending some time in the next few days to look back at 2011 and think about the year ahead too - you are an inspirational woman! Here's to good grounded work and ordinary things in 2012

good morning Carole, thank you so much, what alot of nice stuff you said, but you are such a wonderful writer and are able to express yourself so well with your words - your tumblr page has become a new addiction for me - I love it and hate it - love it that your images are like what I would choose and I hate it because I don't need another image site to loose myself in - sigh - many best wishes for this exciting new year we are about to enter xo

yes, please, Judy, more of the mundane!!! you put that so well - it's what I run on - the ordinary is the extraordinary, no? the very best to you also :))

thank you Lisa, and hurray for the ordinary!! the cornerstone that keeps chaos at the back door and allows the extraordinary to happen
- the very best for you in 2012 :)

hello Rosie and I raise a glass to you in your look back over your last year - wow, you accomplished some amazing things and inspired me on your way - looking forward to you sharing your journey in this new year xo

It's the staying focused that's important, isn't it? As you say, there's good and bad stuff, some of it life changing, and then there's all that ordinary stuff that we humans need to perform to maintain health and sanity. But the art, well--when you look back on a year, and see the art, there's a certain thrill that comes from a place so deep we haven't begun to sound it yet. I like being able to access that, I live for it.

I also agree about the cyber friends, and am very grateful to be counted among yours.
XO
