We are five days into the new year - I didn't know what to expect as I started working again - I knew I wanted to cover new ground in new ways but how wasn't clear - so I putter and putter and putter and the paintings are coming pretty fast - the work below I finished today in a very short time - It's like I can't paint fast enough - work on paper lays about drying on the floor, wood pieces are started and a large one waits for me to work on tomorrow - even though the first day in was difficult, the work is pouring out - of course not all of it will be good work, but it needs to be done - much of it will be reworked after this initial emptying - hope you are all finding new ways to drop into the new year - will see you all on the other side of the weekend......

Jeane what I like so much is the level of texture you get. I work in fabric, cloth - fiber, thread type of media and my first thought was - this look like a fabric/cloth surface. I wish there was actual touch to the touch screen concept...i would love to run my fingers across this. lovely.
This is fabulous work Jean. Don't you just love it when things come fast and furious.
Very strong work, Jeane! I'm so glad that things are flowing. This work sings...and sparkles. It looks as though it would be happy being 12 feet by 12 feet. :-)
Stay with it! You're on a roll.
Love the organic feel of your work anyway but this is even more so! Looks like a good start in the new year. Nice going.
beautiful! I hear the strength in your words and feel your work becoming more and more you! It feels like you have really hit your stride. And as always you share the wisdom that you have gleaned from your work: " of course not all of it will be good work, but it needs to be done." This is so good for me to hear. I am starting to get this!!
Great to see you back in your studio- great piece- isn't wonderful how cathartic art work can be especially when you have been away for a while and then it comes fast and furious
Johnina
wow, jeane, i *like* this. it's got a new twist...
xoxo
(and this is one fabulous title : )
Ooooh...yes, so organic, and alive! So great when you are in the zone and it is pouring forth. I'm feeling it too! Happy 2012!
Wow, you are in the zone! Isn't it wonderful being there!
Beautiful texture and expression.
I really like this, possibly because it looks like it's still in flow, paint still on the move.....
I like it but I know well enough by now that it will change .. evolution .. evolving... growing .. something we should all strive to do ... especially in a fresh new year
to prove it, my WV is: bring
Bring it on, evolve!!!!!!
What a wonderful putter into 2012 - may your puttering continue throughout the year - like Annie I feel the work is flowing! Have a good weekend
hello Henrietta, I have a huge passion for textiles so I know much of my work indirectly uses layers of texture, thanks for coming by :)
Yes I do Z!, thank you so much! hope all is well in your world, xo
oooooo, Melinda, to have a space where I could work that big is my dream, but until then, small, med., and large - XL's are somewhere in the future, thanks so much xox
Hi Robin, bees wax gives that extra umph to the texture - I like to use it occasionally because truly my heart lies in just the painting :)
good morning Carole, yes, gotta do the bad and ordinary work to get to the good stuff - I truly love doing the bad and ordinary because that work is my strongest teacher so when that work starts to pile up and I can really look at it and see how I can improve and grow xo
very cathartic Johnina, and very satisfying to have it come so fast after being away, thanks for stopping by :)
good morning Lynnie, thank you xo, I've been thinking alot lately about the night sky and the depth that lies beyond what we can see xoxo

I really think this is superb! The colors and design have so much class.

Five days in and look at this piece...done or not at this point the subdued colors are remarkable. Enjoy your weekend and back to the studio...it is stacking up!
