Things feel like they have started to settle and the work is back on track. Whew! Figures are not new for me, but the 'pouring out beginnings' have almost all included figures in some way. I find this interesting. I mean they are always appearing, but these particular figures are bit more persistent. Don't know how long they will stick around, but will follow this particular path for awhile until something points another way. The painting below I finished a couple of days ago. Hope you are all settling back into your work and finding it all good.
this is oil on paper 24x19, 'AWOL'. Grab the week everyone!

It's always a pleasure to hear about your process--that you'll allow yourself to follow a thread--no matter where it leads.
Of course, this is completely successful. I love the distant suggestion of color and perhaps, other figures in the background. The texture in this is luscious too.
Stay warm up there!
Love this piece - it feels still just part of my imagination - ghostly, something I am trying to remember.
LOVE the header!!!!!!!
Jeane, your work is in constant evolution which makes it so beautiful and interesting to study. "AWOL" raises up an uneasiness in me. Good you say, an emotional response to your work!
Nope haven't settled in yet, except for a daily Circle Journal I'm working on. Too many ideas have stifled my painting. I'll grab this week as you suggest!
The colours of the land around here, so my eyes are searching for a recognizable landmark or feature. Quite good that they are finding none!! I like the figures and how I can't decide if they are coming or going.Ax
Your header grabbed me instantly!
Loving the ghostly feel of this new one. The 'not quite there-ness' of it. I always like to see inferences of figures in your work.
The perfect imperfection is so cool!
oh, I love this. There is this delicious air of mystery. Mists, graveyards. eek, I have been watching too much Sherlock Holmes with my daughter!
WOW to the Header!!!
Beautiful figures in beautiful light...it leads, you lead, it leads...beautiful...this art making is fascinating.
I'm still on 'medical leave' being nurse instead of artist. The one good benefit being away from my art is I'm getting an audience mentality instead of a fellow artist view. Never would have thought I would be able to separate myself from that. A nice perspective for me to enjoy your work.
good morning Melinda, these figures are definitely leading me in another way, although the same - probably doesn't sound like that makes sense, but it does in my mind - taking all that I've learned on a side road for awhile - 'displacing a different space' xo
thank you Judy - you describe where my head is right now - how cool! :)
oh, Daryl, thank you - the header is stuff lying about on the floor that I piled on my work table one day and played with xo
yes, I do say good! Carole - that's a compliment to cause a bit of unease or any other emotion - and yes, the process is to keep evolving, keep pushing new edges and risking any secure little nooks I've created xo
oh, Annie, how extremely cool what you describe! gives me hope for this exploration I'm on xo
so happy it feels 'imperfect' to you Babs - that is totally what I try to speak about in my work - all the parts of us and the world we live in - good, bad, and ugly xo
ohhhhhh, mystery is one of the best ingredients life has, thank you carole!! xo
I couldn't agree more Mary Ann, artmaking is definitely fascinating and continues to grow more so, the more we continue on the journey xo
an interesting concept you present Robin, being an audience as opposed to one of the fellow creators - a very different perspective for sure - so happy you stopped by :)
Lost civilization.
I must say......I love this and your other gray/neutral paintings..I like how they let us decide what they say
hello badlydrawngirl, love your take on this piece, thanks so much for coming by :)
thank you Celeste, that's a wonderful compliment - so happy you stopped by :)
intriguing! your figures are mysterious
good morning Shayla, yes, they are! I wonder about them myself xo
nice chalkyness and i love the scrunchy header picture...it makes my heart want to dance :)
good morning Kate, thank you - bits of flotsam and jetsam off the floor for the header xo
very striking, indeed.
