dry pigments? and an updated painting

I LOVE! them, that's all I can say - am experimenting using these delicious earthy pigments and my favorite way so far? is to dip my paint brush in walnut oil and then into the dry pigments and then apply to the surface of whatever I'm working on - it's just luscious!

And just an update on the 'tube wringer'? Get one! So worth the investment in the quality metal one - I tried to be cheap and got the plastic one first - two thumbs down - just getting back to a regular schedule and so looking forward to all the possibilities that 2013 will offer up - the painting below I just finished today.

oil, wax, dry pigment on panel, 18x24

UPDATE! 1/3/13 when I got to the studio today I realized the painting I posted yesterday was only an under painting - sigh - so here is the next manifestation.... way better
See you all on the other side of the weekend!

Hope you are all excited to get back to creating after the holidays.......

Hi Jeane. Good to hear how you're finding some new materials. Hearing your enthusiasm almost makes me head to the kitchen table and my box of paints, but I have this story on the go and want to work with that first. I have a free evening, so I'll see if I can make some mess then! Happy new year. Ax
