I just wanted to come by and say hello and let you know that I'm loving dry pigments more and more and more! The possibilities seem endless. They are quickly becoming a staple in my tools of choice. For whatever reason, I have slowed down my painting. I'm taking more time with each piece so having more under way then I have in the past. Letting pieces set up longer gives me more ways to work the painting. So, in other words, I don't have any finished work to share, but I wanted to show you the pigments I'm using. Just two right now, these are transparent which I love - it's like applying glazes. The pic below shows you the two colors I'm currently using, the yellow being my fav right now.
the pic below are three of the small poems under construction - today they got their coats of yellow pigment.......
the photo below is a close up of one of the paintings.....
It's been a wonderful work week so far. The weekend is on its way and I hope you all have plans for creative endeavors.
Will be back next week, maybe with a finished work and then again, maybe not.......

YES!!!! Love this beautiful transparent yellow and who knows how it will develop from here??!!!
I always look forward to your posts and progress/insights not to mention the peaks at your beautiful art. Just love the wonderful textures you achieve in your process and the colours, yum.
its going to snow snow snow here this weekend so i am guessing i will be indoors 99.99% of the time ... maybe its time to once again attempt to organize iPhoto
good morning Carole, thank you! and same to you - we are hopeful for sun here! xo
exactly!! Mary Ann, it truly is an amazing thing - and who doesn't love a transparent paint!! xo
hello Bren, yes, texture is the operative word here for sure - thank you - hope life in your world is wonderful xo
oh, my! sounds like it is going to be a hunker down weekend in your area!! Daryl! arg, organizing that monster always seems daunting to me - a couple of weeks ago I deleted over 400 images - made me feel like I at least dipped my toe into the water, good luck!! stay inside and keep warm! xo
I love your work and seeing how it comes together. Have an amazing weekend.
Nice Post.
I use dry pigments...and I love them too!!!
good morning Kathryn, thank you so much!! my weekend will consist of cleaning the bathrooms and other exciting chores, the excitement never stops!! :))
hello Sue, yes, they are magic!! they are my new love and I can't see an end to the possibilities :))
This pace seems to suit you -- at least based on those paintings which in my eyes could be called done right now!
Looking so beautiful already...nice to take your time doing anything.
Your 3 poems already look good, Jeane. I remember the chunky little paintings you did some time ago with strands of rusty wire wrapped around them. They were a similar size and very swoon worthy.
good morning Seth, well, it seems to suit at this point - I'm on such a huge learning curve right now and the more mistakes I make, the more I learn and then that leads to more experimenting - and on and on and on xox
hello Don, you are right of course, taking time is good, but it's something I've had to cultivate, it's not in my dna - I'm so madly in love with your clothing line - just incredible and original and all the things I love - glad you stopped by :))
Hey Robyn, well they are still very much in process, but just had to share the dry pigment - that yellow is so yum - yes, those little paintings were quite a while ago and there is one on our wall that I'm looking at right now - funny you should mention them, no? and I was so thinking about adding a bit of assemblage to these also - two minds across the world thinking in the same - so good xoxox
Good morning Jeane...I have really enjoyed combing through your posts here...looking at your incredible pieces both finished and under construction...how you are loving just painting whenever you can...the ballerinas in the back alley running through the mud in their white shoes...(I would love to paint that!)...the yellow glowing warm beautiful color from the dry pigment you are using....this is all so fantastic and great start to my day. I always get lost here on your blog reading what you have to say and looking at your work...it really does require "reading". I am off to paint now...I feel very inspired. Have a GREAT day!
good morning Lisa! what a wonderful comment and so glad you stopped by! hope you are painting like a mad woman, always love to see what you are up to - your work continues to grow and get better and better :))
